Not rejected!

Wonderful prayer meeting Saturday night. We sought the Lord for healing for a number of people. After laying prostrate in His presence for some time I was mightily encouraged by some saints who came to pray over me. I was refreshed as they laid hands on me. The Lord then began to minister to [...]

Silk Road

Ran 8.8 miles Saturday – a nice long run although I want to run the full race distance at least once before race day on April 25. I thought the next hill I would tackle would be Bank St. but wound up running out Rte 67A toward N. Bennington on Sat. When I made [...]

Running up hill

So I’m thinking “I have to get stronger!” The La jolla half marathon is considered a pretty difficult half because it has some hills. One in particular is somewhat daunting – almost a mile long with a vertical rise of 420′. Been looking for a comparable hill to train on – Ran the museum hill [...]

It is good to remember…

As I sat on the couch last Monday morning in my time with the Lord He reminded me of an hour 35 years ago. It was 1975. I was in Bible School at Northwest College. It was late – in the wee hours of the morning. I was studying for Daniel/Revelatioin. As I read the book [...]

Consistency

As I read about running one of the recurring comments I find are words to the effect “You just have to put the miles in.” This refers to the fact that consistent, day by day training is necessary to improve your performance. This is in spite of the fact that sometimes you don’t feel [...]

Book signings

I have registered to be an exhibitor at the Albany, NY Iron Sharpens Iron (Men’s conference) on April 10. This great conference always sells out – should be a good time to connect with pastors and men from the region. Today I also hope to set up a couple of book signings in the San [...]

Speed!

Okay, so this week begins the countdown on my 10 week training program for the La Jolla half marathon. Pretty much 5 miles a day except for a longer run on Saturdays. Today is the first day that includes any speed work. Of course, at my age speed is a relative term.

Still running on [...]

Lord, please give the book “favor”

Favor is that blessing from God that makes something or something attractive to others. It opens doors and draws appreciation. I often pray this for myself, the church, as well as specific individuals and ministries. I have found that the Lord can do amazing things for us by gracing us and our efforts for Him with that [...]

Daily Diligence

It is now about 11 weeks from the La Jolla half marathon. I am amping up my training – after perusing a number of training schedules I have selected one that will gradually take me from where I am to a higher level of speed and proficiency. It will do this by increasing the [...]
