Daily Diligence

Written By: John Goyette on February 11, 2010 One Comment

It is now about 11 weeks from the La Jolla half marathon. I am amping up my training – after perusing a number of training schedules I have selected one that will gradually take me from where I am to a higher level of speed and proficiency. It will do this by increasing the number of runs per week, focusing on particular aspects of training, i.e. pace, endurance, and speed. It makes me think of how we need to have a plan to improve our spiritual performance. I will run longer and harder so that I can run faster in the natural. Lord help me to prepare to run faster in the Spirit by diligently training myself in prayer, study, and good works.

That is a great comparison Pastor! I believe that Christians need to remember and/or recognize that our life must be a daily discipline – or as Jesus said, we must pick up our cross and follow him. Thanks.
