Consistency
As I read about running one of the recurring comments I find are words to the effect “You just have to put the miles in.” This refers to the fact that consistent, day by day training is necessary to improve your performance. This is in spite of the fact that sometimes you don’t feel like running. Sometimes you don’t feel fast and sometimes you aren’t. Nevertheless, that dogged effort yields good results down the road. There is a spiritual truth in this as well. It is so important to take the time each day to read the Word and pray. We may not get a revelation each day or feel anything emotionally but keeping our spirit in shape is critically important and will bring blessings.
